Pat and Cathy live in Taos, New Mexico. They were both born in 1951. Roberta and I have been close friends with them since we got together in the late 1970s. They share their parenting journey, which took them through failed insemination attempts, many years of fostering, almost adopting, and finally raising Pat’s sisters’ children. Their experiences represent common but unacknowledged creative parenting service in our communities.
