Acknowledgments

Several parts of this exhibit were directly adapted from my Major Research Paper, ‘“No Matter Where We Are, Gay Asians No Longer Have to Be Alone!’ The Transnational Community Building and Activism of the Gay Asians of Toronto, 1980-2000,” which was supervised by Professor Yvon Wang. This paper was submitted to the University of Toronto in August 2025 for completion of the Master of Arts program in 2025.

All archival material featured within this exhibit was sourced through the Gale Archives of Sexuality and Gender, the Asianadian digital archive, The History Project Documenting LGBTQ Boston digital exhibition, and the ArQuives (previously known as the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives) in Toronto.

In working on this project, I was able to contact and speak with several former GAT members, including founder Richard Fung, Alan Li, and Mary Woo Sims. While the exhibit does not use my conversations with them as testimony or in any formal way, I want to acknowledge and thank them for their role and their aid in supporting the archival research conducted to complete this exhibit.
