Horacio N. Roque Ramírez

Horacio N. Roque Ramírez was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador, on November 15, 1969. He immigrated to Los Angeles in 1981; earned a B.A. and M.A. at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley; and worked as a faculty member at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He was a prominent queer oral historian, publishing works on San Francisco’s Latinx communities and coediting with Nan Alamilla Boyd the anthology Bodies of Evidence: The Practice of Queer Oral History (2012).
