Maryland Gazette: "sodomy" in England, January 3, 1754
In a section of news from England the Maryland Gazette reports two sentences handed down in the Bristol court:
Richard Arnold and William Crutchard, for committing the detestable crime of Sodomy, Death.
William Cattle, for attempting to commit the like Crime, to be fined 6a.8d [and] to stand on the Pillory, and to be confined in Newgate [prison] 12 Months.*
